Welcome to Immersive Traveller
Immersive Traveller is a hub for all things travel and adventure. I write about my international travels as well as trail descriptions and recommendations of Canadian destinations. My travel style is a mix of adventurous, authentic, and at times touristy. For example, I want to find the most authentic cacio e pepe in Rome for the best price, but I also want to see the Colosseum while I’m there. The goal of Immersive Traveller is to provide realistic travel experiences and recommendations from budget to mid-budget options for real travellers.
As a Canadian born and raised in Southern Alberta, I share a lot of information about where to go in Alberta, what hikes to try in Banff and Kananaskis (and beyond), and suggested itineraries for Alberta/Western Canada. While I love sharing my international travel experiences and travel advice, Alberta is what I know best.

Quick Day Trips from Calgary for the Summer
While Calgary is a common starting point for trips to Banff, Jasper, and other national parks in the Canadian Rockies, it is also a great hub for day trips to small towns in Alberta. Banff and Jasper National Parks are beautiful, but Alberta has a great diversity in its landscape, culture, and historic sites that…
10 Adventurous Destinations in Alberta that Aren’t Banff
Banff is Canada’s most well-known national park (as well as its oldest), and a popular tourist destination. While it is indisputably beautiful, it can be very crowded, especially during the summer months. In fact, Banff sees around 4 million tourists every year, most of which visit the town of Banff, pop. 9,600. If you are…
