Lynn Canyon is a beautiful park in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. It is home to a suspension bridge that hangs 50 metres over Lynn Canyon, along with several other bridges and trails. The park is open year-round and accessible by bus, car, bike, or on foot.
Lynn Canyon is not only a free alternative to Capilano Suspension Bridge, but also a stunning natural park area. There are three main trails in the park, and it connects to a larger trail network throughout North Vancouver.

How to Get Lynn Canyon
Lynn Canyon is on the east side of the Lynn Valley community. If you are driving, there is paid parking available at the park near the Ecology Centre and Lynn Canyon Cafe; however, it can fill up quickly in the summer months.
The park is also accessible by bus. Route 228 brings you closest to the park, which you can connect to from the SeaBus at Lonsdale Quay terminal or bus 240 at Grand Boulevard East.
If you are biking or walking, you can connect to the park through Baden Powell Trail or through the Lynn Canyon neighbourhood.

Crossing the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is a short 2-minute walk from the parking lot near the Lynn Canyon Cafe. You can include the bridge as part of a larger excursion through the park’s three main loops: the Twin Falls Loop, the Creek Loop, and the 30 Foot Loop.
The bridge hands 50 metres over Lynn Creek, with views of the towering cedars on the banks and a waterfall visible to the north side of the bridge. The sides of the bridges are steep, so watch your step and be respectful of the other visitors.

Trails in the Lynn Canyon Area
Beyond the suspension bridge, there are 3 loops. The park is well signed, with maps at each of the trail junctions so you can find your way. Twin Falls Loop brings you around the south of the park between Twin Falls Bridge and the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. The Creek Loop and 30 Foot Loop share a trail along the Lynn Creek and circle outwards in opposite directions north of the suspension bridge.
Twin Falls Loop
- Distance: 1.3 km round trip
- Elevation: 70 metres
- Time: 30 minutes
Creek Loop
- Distance: 2.5 km round trip
- Elevation: 90 metres
- Time: 45 minutes
30 Foot Loop
- Distance: 1.4 km round trip
- Elevation: 60 metres
- Time: 30 minutes

We did a combination of trails, starting by walking south on Twin Fall Loop towards Twin Falls Bridge. The trail starts with a long set of steps down through the canyon. Then we looped around to cross the suspension bridge—both directions—before connecting with the Creek Loop/30 Foot Loop trail that runs alongside the creek.
We passed the 30 Foot Pool, which wasn’t too deep in the fall, but the water was crystal clear, blue-green. Following the 30 Foot Pool, we climbed back up several flights of wooden stairs back up to the top of the canyon. Here, we followed the Creek Loop trail across the Pipeline Bridge (named for the pipe bridges adjacent to the pedestrian bridge) back to Lynn Valley Road.
